In my work as a doula and childbirth educator I see couples preparing for birth, going to birthing classes, hours of scrolling for the best strollers and baby carriers, carefully picking out all the equipment you and your baby will need, packing a hospital bag…
But how much do we prepare for when the baby is actually here?
Becoming parents is an awesome beautiful step in your journey of life but for many it can also be pretty shocking. It can shock all systems: your physical health, your mental health and your relationship.
Just like childbirth education has a positive affect on labor, I know that planning for postpartum can absolutely effect your recovery and adjustment to this new stage.
You might be pregnant and actually planning for postpartum or you might be a few years postpartum already, it’s never too late to set foundations for your family.
